Åland - The Nordic archipelago between Sweden and Finland

Photography, video and stories from Åland, Finland and the Nordic landscapes.

Åland – The place behind many of my photographs

Åland is where I live, and the sea and islands are a constant source of inspiration. From summer evenings and boat trips to winter landscapes and the changing Nordic light, there is always something new to discover.

Kobba Klintar - An old pilot station at the edge of the Åland Sea

Kobba Klintar never disappoints me. I try to visit the island every summer, often with my family but sometimes on my own. But never without a camera. If you stay into the early evening, you'll be rewarded with amazing colours and combinations in almost every crack and corner of the rocks. And then there are the sunsets, the kind that stay with you for a long time.

Colourful Winter

Winter is not nearly as white and monochromatic as it is said. On the contrary. The low rays of the winter sun give fantastic colours.

Winter is not nearly as white and monochromatic as people often think. On the contrary, the low winter sun can bring out some fantastic colours.
