What do you know about Åland?

I knew surprisingly little about Åland, even though I had lived so close to the islands for many years.

Now I live here. Through my photographs and stories, I’ll try to explain what it is about Åland that made me fall for the place.

One of the things I love about the North is how much the light changes through the year. Summer brings long, bright days, while the low winter sun creates warm, colourful skies in the afternoons and evenings.

The landscape may be the same, but the light can make it look completely different.
